Amanda Walker

Dr. Amanda L. Walker is currently serving as the Director of Career Services for Austin Peay State University (APSU). Dr. Walker is trained as a Career Development Facilitator (CDF) and holds Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Greenbelt). She has experience working in both large and small public universities as well as, in secondary education. She is currently pursuing certification within the Society of Human Resources Management(SHRM) at the SHRM-CP level.

Dr. Walker has a 16-year tenure in education, from Secondary Education to Consulting to Higher Education Administration. She has a broad-range of skillsets that allow her to make informed decisions to clients, colleagues, and executive leadership. Using a wide-range of experiences ranging from teaching to strategic planning to research to consulting, she brings a wealth of experience to all organizations she is involved in and gives back to. Dr. Walker understands the challenges that organizations face when they are committed to success.

In addition, in the last five years she has used her experience and research to provide consulting for regional and national consulting firms. Dr. Walker’s cliental include national and regional employers, regional colleges and universities, and individuals. Her services range from onsite consultations to hosting presentations, lectures, and seminars on topics, such as, personal branding, team building, using metrics to expand customer reach, why consider lean manufacturing methods, and understanding the role of emotional intelligence in the workplace.

Dr. Walker earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Master of Arts in Higher Education from The University of Mississippi and a Doctor of Education from Delta State University in Professional Studies in Higher Education. Her dissertation focused on employer perspectives on the value of experiential education.
